Nigerian Governor Declares Friday Work-Free Day

The Ogun State Government has declared Friday, November 15, a work-free day for all civil and public servants in the state.

This announcement was made in a circular signed by the Head of Service, Kehinde Onasanya, on Thursday.

The circular stated that the work-free day was approved by Governor Dapo Abiodun to allow civil and public servants to fully participate in the upcoming local government elections, which are scheduled for Saturday, November 16, across the state’s 20 local government areas and 237 wards.

The initiative is aimed at ensuring active participation in the electoral process, enabling citizens to fulfill their civic duties without obstacles.

The Head of Service emphasized that the decision reflects Governor Abiodun’s commitment to fostering democratic participation and civic engagement in Ogun State.

“This decision aligns with Governor Abiodun’s efforts to prioritize the welfare and participation of citizens in the democratic processes,” Onasanya said.
