The National Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu, has been appointed Vice Chairman of the Democrat Union of Africa (DUA).
The announcement, made on Thursday by the Imo State PDP Publicity Secretary, Lancelot Obiaku, hailed the appointment as a major milestone for democracy and leadership.
“His emergence as Vice Chairman (West Africa) and board member of the Democrat Union of Africa (DUA) is great news for the state and everyone who believes in true democracy and people-centred leadership,” the statement read.

“As a party, we are proud of Anyanwu’s accomplishment. He has indeed brought honour to Imo State by securing this enviable position in a keenly contested election,” the statement continued.
“We are confident that the former Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions will continue to distinguish himself and use his new position to foster the growth of future leaders and deepen democracy in Imo State, Nigeria, West Africa, and Africa at large,” the statement stated.
