Calls For Ambode’s Return As Lagos Governor Begins

Ambode, who served as governor from 2015 to 2019, lost the ticket of his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), under controversial circumstances during the primary elections, which prevented him from securing a second term.

However, in a statement issued by the Lagos Residents Association (LRA) and signed by its President General, Dr. Olumuyiwa Adesanmi, the group urged the APC to grant the former governor its governorship ticket.

Adesanmi emphasized that it is Ambode’s constitutional right to seek a second term, noting that the circumstances surrounding his initial loss of the ticket were questionable.

The group further called on Ambode to re-enter the race to succeed the incumbent governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, whose second term will end in 2027.
