The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Wednesday, as the flight, bound for Abuja, suffered engine failure due to a bird strike approximately 10 minutes after departure.
Thanks to the quick actions of the pilot and crew, an emergency landing was successfully executed back at Maiduguri Airport, preventing a potentially catastrophic outcome.
A Max Air staff member, speaking on the condition of anonymity, confirmed the incident early Thursday morning.
