Akume made the statement while appealing to Nigerians to support the passage of key bills through the necessary legislative processes, emphasizing that the bills were carefully designed for the benefit of the country.
Speaking on the Politics on Sunday programme on Television Continental, hosted by Femi Akande, Akume reassured Nigerians that President Bola Tinubu’s popularity has not waned due to recent tax reforms and other major economic measures introduced over the past 17 months.
He particularly defended the Tax Reform Bills, describing them as well-conceived initiatives that, once passed by the National Assembly, would guide the nation towards long-term economic recovery and growth.

He said, “President Tinubu through the reform bills, wants to reposition the Nation’s economy as he earlier did with the removal of fuel subsidy and harmonization of the foreign exchange windows in the country.
