FEC Renames University Of Abuja

The Federal Executive Council (FEC) has officially renamed the University of Abuja to Yakubu Gowon University.

This announcement was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Muhammed Idris, following a FEC meeting chaired by President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking to State House Correspondents, the Minister explained that the decision was made to honor the former Head of State and respected elder statesman, Yakubu Gowon.

The Minister also said the decision “will go through the National Assembly, but FEC has taken that decision”.
