He added, “He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving.”

The 78-year-old was at his Washington home when he was hospitalized.

The former president had quadruple bypass heart surgery in 2004 and had two stents placed to open an artery in 2010. In 2021, he was also hospitalized for an infection that spread to his bloodstream.

Clinton remained active on the campaign trail this autumn and has kept a busy travel schedule since the election, while also promoting his new book, Citizen: My Life After the White House.
