The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has assured corps members that they will soon begin receiving a minimum wage of N77,000.
Speaking in Abuja during the commissioning of a staff bus donated by Capital Express Insurance Company, the DG confirmed that arrangements have been finalized for the increased allowances to be paid.
He emphasized that the welfare and security of corps members are his top priorities, and that in 2025, they will receive all the benefits they rightfully deserve.

Brigadier General Ahmed also highlighted that the bus donation was aimed at addressing transportation challenges faced by both NYSC staff and corps members.
He acknowledged that commuting to and from the office had been a major concern for many.
Meanwhile, the CEO of Capital Express Insurance, Mr. Matthew Ogwezhi, expressed that the donation was part of a longstanding partnership between the scheme and the company.
He stated that the donation would help alleviate transportation difficulties, particularly given the high costs of fuel and transportation in the Abuja area.
Ogwezhi further emphasized that the true legacy of any organization lies in the positive impact it has on society, encouraging companies to always give back to their communities.
