Sugary drinks may contribute to a significant public health crisis, with potential links to increased mortality, according to a recent study.

Dr. Dariush Mozaffarian, senior author of the study, a cardiologist, and director of the Food is Medicine Institute at Tufts University, called for urgent action to address the issue. “This is a public health crisis, requiring urgent action,” he said.
