A senior officer of the Nigerian Army’s 93 Battalion in Taraba State is accused of brutally mistreating a soldier named Lance corporal Samuel P.
The incident allegedly occurred on January 12, 2025, about 8:10 a.m., amid preparations for the Armed Forces Remembrance Day procession in Jalingo.

According to SaharaReporters, LCpl Samuel P. arrived late for the mustering, earning him a reprimand from Lt. B. Mohammed.
According to eyewitnesses, the officer ordered the soldier to execute “forward rolls” as punishment before grabbing a stick from Sgt. Steven and whipping him.
