Eight governors have arrived in Asaba, the capital of Delta State, for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governors’ Forum scheduled for Friday.
The host governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, welcomed the governors during a dinner organized in preparation for the meeting, where the unity of the opposition party will be a key topic of discussion ahead of the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting called by the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT).
The governors from Akwa Ibom, Bauchi, Plateau, Adamawa, Bayelsa, Osun, Taraba, and Zamfara states are present, with the deputy governor of Oyo State representing Governor Seyi Makinde.
Also in attendance is the Acting National Chairman of the PDP, Umar Damagum.
In his opening remarks, Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori highlighted the importance of unity in Nigeria, stressing that it must be safeguarded at all costs.
