The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has established a committee to address the ongoing dispute over the position of National Secretary.
Both Samuel Anyanwu and Udeh Okoye are claiming the role, and the matter is currently in court.
The situation escalated when their supporters clashed at the PDP secretariat on Wednesday during a BoT meeting.

After the meeting, BoT Chairman Adolphus Wabara announced that the committee would be led by Barr Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN. Wabara explained that the committee would engage with the involved parties, assess the situation, and report back to the Board for further action.
He also stated that the Acting Chairman of the party, Umar Damagun, assured the BoT that a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting would take place as planned in February 2025 to address critical issues and reinforce the party’s unity, discipline, and principles.
The BoT meeting was attended by key figures such as Damagun, former Niger Governor Babangida Aliyu, ex-Kaduna Governor Ahmed Makarfi, and former Jigawa Governor Sule Lamido.
