This decision was made during an emergency meeting held at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja on Wednesday, which focused on addressing the party’s ongoing crisis.

The meeting was attended by BoT Chairman Senator Adolphus Wabara, BoT Secretary Senator Ahmed Makarfi, and former governors Achike Udenwa, Sam Egwu, Babangida Aliyu, Senator Ben Obi, among others.

During the gathering, the BoT reviewed a report from former Minister of Special Duties Tamini Turaki, who was assigned to examine court documents submitted by both the PDP National Secretary, Samuel Nyanwu, and Sunday Udeh-Okoye, who has been contesting the validity of Nyanwu’s position.

In his opening remarks, Wabara commended PDP governors for requesting that the National Working Committee convene the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting in March. He also cited the violence that occurred the previous week as the reason they would not hold meetings at the Wadata Plaza until security conditions are restored.

Both Okoye and Senator Samuel Anyanwu are claiming the position of PDP Secretary, causing division among party members.
