What Will Commence Today In Rivers

Rivers State will begin the commissioning of a new series of projects starting today, according to a statement from the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications, Warisenibo Johnson.

The commissioning will span ten days, with critical infrastructure projects across various sectors being inaugurated, showcasing the administration’s commitment to development, security, and better service delivery.

The projects include developments in housing, firefighting and emergency response, security, healthcare, education, and judiciary welfare in Port Harcourt City, Obio/Akpor, Khana, Okrika LGAs, and Bayelsa State.

Here’s the detailed schedule for the commissioning:

Monday, March 3, 2025 – Government House Staff Quarters (PHALGA): A modern, fully equipped staff quarters for Government House personnel, providing a comfortable living space.

Tuesday, March 4, 2025 – State Fire Service Headquarters and Firefighting Vehicles (Isaac Boro Park/Mile 1, PHALGA): Strengthening the state’s emergency fire response with a new headquarters and state-of-the-art firefighting vehicles.

Wednesday, March 5, 2025 – Handover of Helicopter to the Nigerian Air Force (Obio/Akpor): Enhancing national security operations with aerial surveillance and emergency response support.

Thursday, March 6, 2025 – Borokiri Fire Service Station and Firefighting Vehicles (PHALGA): Expanding fire safety coverage with a new fire station in Borokiri.

Friday, March 7, 2025 – Rumuodonmaya Fire Service Station and Firefighting Vehicles (Obio/Akpor LGA): Reinforcing emergency response infrastructure in Obio/Akpor LGA.

Monday, March 10, 2025 – Construction and Furnishing of the Palace & Residence of Akpor Monarch (Ozuoba, Obio/Akpor LGA): A new palace for the Akpor Kingdom’s traditional ruler, promoting cultural heritage and community leadership.

Tuesday, March 11, 2025 – Judges’ Quarters (Akassa Street, PHALGA): Residential quarters for judges to provide them with an enabling environment for delivering justice.

Wednesday, March 12, 2025 – Bori General Hospital (Bori, Khana LGA): A key healthcare facility to improve medical services and access in Khana and surrounding areas.

Thursday, March 13, 2025 – Okrika Grammar School, Okrika (Okrika LGA): Upgraded facilities to improve secondary education standards in Okrika.

Friday, March 14, 2025 – Furnishing, Equipping & Electrification of the Nigerian Law School, Yenagoa Campus (Bayelsa State): Providing modern amenities, infrastructure, and reliable power supply for law students.

“This is part of our administration’s firm commitment to Sustainable Development. These projects reflect our dedication to infrastructure, security, education, and improved public service,” said Johnson in the statement.

The commissioning events will include the participation of key government officials, community leaders, and stakeholders from various sectors.
