Former Sokoto Governor Bafarawa Speaks On ‘Joining SDP’

Former Sokoto State Governor and former Presidential candidate, Attahiru Bafarawa, has denied claims that he has joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Bafarawa issued this clarification through his media aide, Dr. Abubakar Umar, on Tuesday in Sokoto.

Bafarawa had previously stepped back from active politics.

He called the circulating information false and misleading, stating that he had neither given any media interviews nor held discussions with any group regarding such a move.

Bafarawa urged journalists to avoid spreading inaccurate reports and revealed that he and his team are investigating the origins and circumstances behind the spread of the story.

“We are in Ramadan, the month of fasting, gratitude to Allah for His blessings, and a time for the wealthy to support the less privileged in society.

”It is a season for sharing food, not spreading rumours,” Mr Bafarawa said.
