The EPPC held its first meeting in Abuja this week. Led by Prof. Rhoda H. Gumus, the committee’s job is to create a detailed plan for smooth elections.
This includes:
- Reviewing their goals.
- Making a work schedule.
- Forming smaller groups.
- Creating a template for the Elections Project Plan (EPP).
- Setting deadlines for planning documents.
Other INEC National Commissioners, including Kenneth Ukeagu, Dr. Baba Bila, Sam Olumekun, and Prof. Abdullahi Abdu Zuru, are also part of the committee.
Prof. Gumus stressed that starting planning early is crucial for improving Nigeria’s elections. She asked the committee to work carefully to ensure the elections are fair and open.
