Second Republic Lawmaker, Wole Oke, Dies At 78

Chief Wole Oke, a former minority leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly during the Second Republic, has died at the age of 78.

His death was confirmed by former lawmaker, Hon. AbdulMumini Katibi, who stated that Oke passed away in the early hours of Sunday.

Oke, also known as the Jagunmolu of Shao, was a respected figure known for his dedication to community development and was a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Elders Council in Kwara State.

Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq expressed his sadness at the news, describing Oke as a prominent APC leader, a Second Republic lawmaker, and a “fine progressive.”

He praised Oke as a statesman who pursued his causes with conviction and truthfulness.

The governor extended his condolences to the Ohoro of Shao, the community, Oke’s family, and APC members in Moro Local Government and Kwara State.
