Suspected Herdsmen Attack Edo Community [VIDEO]

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have reportedly killed one person and injured others in Ukhun community, Esan West Local Government Area of Edo State.

This incident has occurred despite the Edo State government’s efforts to combat criminal herdsmen and kidnappers.

A video circulating on social media detailed the attack, stating that the herdsmen blocked roads and killed a man named Mr. Dan, an Igbira resident, while he was in the bush.

The video also indicated that other individuals were missing.

Residents claim that the herders attacked farmers on their way to their farms, attempting to kidnap them.

They stated that attacks and kidnappings have become frequent in the community.

Just last month, Mallam Bello Obadan was macheted and kidnapped, suffering severe injuries.

The Onojie of Ukhun, Zaiki Thomas Omoigiade, has appealed to the governor, the Commissioner of Police, the Director of the DSS, the Director of the Edo State Security Network, and the Divisional Police Officer to intervene and protect the community.

Alex Eguakhide, CEO of FECHA Project Ltd, also urged the state government to safeguard the lives and property of the Ukhun community, whose residents, primarily farmers, are now afraid to go to their farms.

The Divisional Police Officer in Ekpoma, Solomon Ekeweye, reportedly led a police team to assess the crime scene.
