Atiku Reacts To Killing Of Northern Travelers In Edo

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has strongly condemned the tragic killing of hunters in Edo State.

In a statement on his X handle on Friday, Atiku extended his heartfelt condolences to the families and loved ones of the deceased.

He emphasized the need for a comprehensive, transparent, and unbiased investigation to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident and ensure that those responsible face justice.

The hunters, who were traveling for Sallah, were reportedly attacked and killed by a mob that intercepted them in Uromi, Esan North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

“The protection of innocent lives must remain paramount, and I urge the authorities to act swiftly and decisively to prevent a recurrence of jungle justice.

“Justice must not only be done but must be seen to be done to restore public confidence in our security institutions,” Atiku said.
