Supreme Court Sets Aside Judgment Recognising Abure As LP National Chairman

The Supreme Court overturned the Court of Appeal’s ruling that recognized Julius Abure as the Labour Party’s National Chairman.

The Supreme Court determined that the Court of Appeal had no authority to make that decision, as the core issue was an internal party leadership dispute, which courts generally do not have jurisdiction over.

The Supreme Court upheld the appeal brought by Senator Nenadi Usman and another, finding it valid, while dismissing the Labour Party’s Abure group’s counter-appeal as without merit.
