The Edo State House of Assembly has replaced Hon Natasha Osawaru Irobosa of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as minority leader.
This removal occurred alongside the replacement of Charity Aiguobarueghian, who was the Majority Leader.
However, PDP members Hon. Blessing Agbebaku and Maria Edeko have kept their roles as Speaker and Deputy Speaker, respectively.

Additionally, Hon. Yekini Idaiye of the PDP was removed as Chief Whip of the house.
These changes were prompted by a letter from the acting chairman of the state All Progressives Congress (APC), Jarret Tenebe.
This letter followed the PDP losing its majority in the assembly due to the defection of four of its lawmakers to the APC.
The Speaker of the House announced that the new principal officers are Hon. Ibhamawu Jonathan Aigbokhan (APC, Esan West) as Majority Leader, Hon. Addeh Emakhu Isibor (APC, Esan North-East I) as Deputy Leader, and Hon. Lecky Hussein Mustapha (APC, Etsako West I) as Chief Whip.
The Speaker also stated that the PDP leadership in the state would submit its list of nominees for principal officer positions to the House.
Furthermore, Speaker Agbebaku noted that his position and that of the Deputy Speaker were not guaranteed in this leadership reshuffle.
