Retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas, the Administrator of Rivers State, has announced the appointment of administrators to head all 23 Local Government Areas (LGAs) within the state.
This decision, as stated by the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Ibibia Worika, became effective on Monday, April 7, 2025.

This action was taken after the Supreme Court ruled that the Local Government elections held in the state on October 5, 2024, were invalid.
