The Benue State Government has announced a three-day work-free period for civil servants in the state to observe Easter.
In a statement released on Tuesday, the Secretary to the State Government, Serumun Aber, stated that this decision acknowledges the importance of the Easter Triduum to the Christian community in Benue State.
“The Executive Governor of Benue State, Rev. Fr. Dr. Hyacinth Iormem Alia has declared Thursday, Friday, and Monday as work-free days for all civil servants,” the statement read.

According to the statement, this decision will allow civil servants to fully participate in the sacred celebrations and observances of the Easter Triduum, which holds profound spiritual meaning for Christians worldwide.
“During these days, all government offices and ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs) will be closed. We encourage all citizens to use this opportunity to reflect, recharge, and spend quality time with their loved ones,” the statement continued.
“The Governor extends his warmest wishes to all Christians in Benue State and beyond, praying that the Easter celebrations bring joy, peace, and spiritual renewal to all.”
The statement concluded with the hope that this period of reflection and celebration will leave everyone rejuvenated and strengthened in their faith and service, with a renewed determination for a better Benue.
