The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has ordered DSP Aliyu Adejembi and the officers seen in a widely circulated video accepting money from Chinese nationals to appear at the Force headquarters in Abuja for questioning.
The video, which emerged on social media on Tuesday, depicted several Chinese individuals distributing approximately N5,000 notes to each Nigerian policeman lined up.
This incident has triggered widespread public anger, with many online users expressing disappointment and demanding reforms within the NPF due to the embarrassing nature of the situation.

Reportedly, the Mobile Policemen were providing escort services to the Chinese nationals in Kaduna State.
According to one source familiar with the situation, the mobile policemen were assigned to protect the Chinese personnel.
After completing their duty, the Chinese individuals decided to show “appreciation” by directly handing out money to each officer instead of giving it to the senior officer for distribution.
However, another source revealed on Wednesday that the policemen have been summoned to Abuja via a Signal Warning for disciplinary measures.
“It’s a true story and not a film o, The officer and men have been summoned to report at the Police Force headquarters, Abuja, for disciplinary action,” the source stated.
The Signal, dated Tuesday, April 15, 2025, and obtained by LEADERSHIP newspaper, instructs the Mobile Policemen and their team leader, DSP Aliyu Adejembi, to appear without fail at the Police headquarters in Abuja on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, to answer allegations of professional misconduct and discreditable conduct.
