Pastor Tunde Bakare, the Serving Overseer of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), has advised President Bola Tinubu to refrain from “playing God,” cautioning that his administration is leading the nation astray.

During a state-of-the-nation broadcast delivered on Sunday at the church’s auditorium in Ikeja, Lagos, Bakare implored the President to adopt a more humble approach to governance.

“Stop playing God,” Bakare said bluntly, emphasizing that while he disagrees with Tinubu, he does not wish for him to fail.

Bakare clarified that his address was intended not to condemn, but to guide the leadership toward a more constructive path.

He expressed concern that the legislature, a fundamental pillar of democracy, is deteriorating under the President’s leadership.

He also criticized the National Assembly’s decision to suspend Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, arguing that her suspension was a retaliatory measure for her demands for accountability.

He called on Senate President Godswill Akpabio to provide an explanation for the suspension and to uphold principles of transparency.
