Presidency Replies Bakare

The Presidency has reacted to the Easter Sunday message delivered by Pastor Tunde Bakare of the Citadel Global Community Church (CGCC), characterizing it as objective and constructive, while also acknowledging points of differing opinion with the cleric’s perspectives.

Special Adviser to President Bola Tinubu on Policy Communication, Daniel Bwala, conveyed these remarks in a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, affirming that the administration values public commentary and views it as an integral part of a robust democratic system.

“Pastor Tunde Bakare’s sermon and speech delivered this morning in form of a message to @officialABAT is quite objective,” Bwala stated.

He added that, “He gave his general opinion on events and decisions of government; he critiqued certain policies and applauded some; he further offered his suggestions on the way forward.”

Bwala stated that although the administration holds different views on some of the points Pastor Bakare raised, it respects his right to express his opinions.

“Although we differ with him in some areas and positions, we respect his right to say his mind, and assure him—as with many Nigerians—that President Tinubu is determined to deliver on the promise to the Nigerian people,” he said.

Bwala also pointed out that Pastor Bakare acknowledged some of the progress and accomplishments made by the current administration.

The presidential aide concluded his statement by wishing Nigerians a Happy Easter and extending his best wishes to them.
