Delta Governor Oborevwori Dumps PDP For APC

Delta State Governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to join the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

The defection was announced after a closed-door meeting held Wednesday evening at the Government House in Asaba.

Sir Festus Ahon, the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, confirmed the move during a phone interview with Vanguard.

According to him, the decision came after wide-ranging consultations with key political figures and was made with the long-term development of Delta State in mind.

Governor Oborevwori, who was elected under the PDP banner in the 2023 elections, was welcomed into the APC by senior party leaders. Political observers see the move as a calculated shift that could significantly influence the political landscape ahead of the 2027 general elections.
