Keyamo Reacts As Oborevwori, Okowa Defect To APC

Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo (SAN), has celebrated the defection of Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, and former Governor Ifeanyi Okowa from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), characterizing it as a pivotal moment in the state’s political landscape.

Expressing his reaction on his X (formerly Twitter) account on Thursday, Keyamo, a long-standing APC supporter and prominent figure from Delta State, declared the event a long-anticipated triumph for the APC in the region. “Today is the day the Lord has made in Delta State. Finally, finally Delta is APC!” he wrote.

Keyamo attributed this shift to President Bola Tinubu’s leadership approach, suggesting that the president’s vision and inclusive policies made the APC an appealing choice for leading political figures. “Thank you, Mr. President, for your leadership that has attracted the best to our Party,” he stated.

Publicly expressing his support, Keyamo referred to Oborevwori as his “leader and Governor,” praising what he termed a courageous and forward-thinking decision. “Thank you, my leader & Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori for your foresight and courage in taking this bold decision,” the minister added.

The defection of the Delta governor and key PDP stakeholders has generated significant political attention in the state and is anticipated to reshape the regional balance of power leading up to the 2027 elections.
