Twenty-two members of the Delta State House of Assembly, including the Speaker, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, have officially switched their political affiliation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
This mass defection was announced during the House’s plenary session on Tuesday.

Speaker Guwor disclosed that he had received 22 letters, including his own, formally informing the House of the lawmakers’ decision to leave the PDP and join the APC.
He stated that the legislators cited the instability within the PDP’s national leadership and the ongoing internal conflict within the party’s South-South zonal executive as the primary reasons for their defection.
