Borno Governor Bans Sale Of Petrol

The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has issued an immediate order prohibiting the sale of petrol at filling stations within Bama Local Government Area.

This measure is part of the state government’s strategy to combat ongoing insecurity in the region.

A statement released on Saturday by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Media, Dauda Iliya, explained that the ban follows consultations with security agencies in the state and is intended to address the persistent security challenges.

“I have directed the immediate ban on the sale of petrol in Bama town, Banki, and other parts of Bama Local Government Area with immediate effect,” Governor Zulum stated.

He warned that strict legal action would be taken against anyone who violates this directive. “Let me make it clear—there will be no sacred cows in the enforcement of this ban. Security agencies have been given strict orders to clamp down on any filling station or individual contravening this directive. Anyone found culpable will be dealt with accordingly,” he cautioned.

Governor Zulum reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to establishing lasting peace in the state and urged citizens to support and cooperate in the ongoing efforts against insurgency.
