Justice Binta Nyako of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled June 27 for the judgment in the lawsuit filed by the suspended Senator representing Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, contesting her suspension.
Akpoti-Uduaghan had gone to court to challenge her suspension by the Senate, under the leadership of Godswill Akpabio, alleging misconduct and bias from one of the parties involved.
Her motion named the National Assembly, the Senate, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Senator Neda Imasuem, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Code of Conduct, as defendants.

During the court session on Monday, presided over by Justice Nyako (following Justice Obiorah Egwuatu’s withdrawal from the case), Akpoti-Uduaghan’s counsel, Jibrin Okutekpa (SAN), informed the court that all necessary documents had been submitted.
Counsel for the Senate, Paul Daudu (SAN), and for the Senate President, Ekwo Ejembi, also confirmed filing their documents but drew the court’s attention to a motion alleging the plaintiff’s disobedience of a court order.
The two senior lawyers representing the second and third defendants claimed that Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan had disobeyed a court order by posting a satirical apology letter to the Senate President on her Facebook page on March 27, which was subsequently published in some national newspapers.
The plaintiff’s counsel, Michael Numan (SAN), acknowledged receiving the motion and reminded the court of a previously filed motion alleging disobedience of a court order by all the defendants.
He argued that the statement attributed to the plaintiff was not connected to her and had no bearing on the case.
