Atiku Reveals Political Parties In Coalition To Challenge Tinubu In 2027

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has announced that prominent individuals from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Labour Party (LP), and other political entities are forming a coalition to challenge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration in the 2027 elections.

Atiku made this statement on Wednesday in Abuja during a meeting with political figures from Kogi-East Senatorial District, led by former Kogi State Deputy Governor Simon Achuba.

He explained that this cross-party coalition is being established to contest what he characterized as the ineffectiveness and incompetence of the current APC-led government.

Addressing the visiting delegation, Atiku stated, “I want you to understand that it is up to us. You are leaders of your various communities. We have a coalition. All the major political parties are involved. In this coalition — the APC, PDP, Labour Party — all of us are involved. That is the way to go in confronting such an incompetent and inefficient government.”

It is worth noting that on March 20, Atiku revealed the formation of an opposition coalition aimed at ousting President Tinubu in 2027. He was accompanied at the press conference by Dr. Yunusa Tanko, representing the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and former Kaduna State governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who recently joined the Social Democratic Party (SDP) after leaving the ruling APC.
