Wike’s Response To BBC Journalist When Asked If He Was Healthy

FCT Minister Nyesom Wike has addressed rumors about his health, challenging a BBC journalist to assess his appearance and confirm he doesn’t look ill.

Recent social media reports claimed Wike had collapsed at an event and was rushed abroad for medical treatment.

However, Wike subsequently appeared publicly with an FCT delegation to visit President Bola Tinubu, and he dismissed the rumors, stating he would outlive those wishing him ill.

In an upcoming BBC Pidgin Service interview, Wike reiterated his good health.

Responding to a direct question, he said, “As I am talking to you, do I look like a sick person to you? Look at me very well, you will think that I am still in my 30s. I am very well.”

Wike also defended his decision to bring his sons to official functions, questioning, “What is wrong with that?”

The full interview will be published by BBC Pidgin Service on Saturday evening.
