Ex-Militants, Protesters Troop Out In Rivers, Lagos [PHOTOS]

On Thursday, as Nigeria observed Democracy Day, former warlords and ex-agitators in Rivers State, clad in branded T-shirts and carrying banners of President Bola Tinubu and Presidential Amnesty Programme administrator Oweizidei Thomas Ekpemupolo (Tompolo), marched through the streets.

The group proceeded from the CFC Bus Stop along Aba Road to the GRA Junction, demonstrating their appreciation for President Bola Tinubu’s goodwill towards them.

In Lagos State, members of the Take-It-Back Movement reportedly held a peaceful protest at Gani Fawehinmi Park in Ojota, under the watchful eye of the police and other security agencies.

The group voiced concerns about the increasing nationwide insecurity, specifically pointing to the surge in killings and kidnappings, particularly in northern Nigeria.

They also demanded the reversal of the fuel subsidy removal and electricity tariff hikes, along with a call for proper funding of education.

Meanwhile, protesters abandoned the Lekki Tollgate on Thursday, a location known for nationwide protests, notably the 2020 End SARS demonstration, which saw violence and police brutality against protesters.
