On Thursday, President Bola Tinubu announced national honors for dozens of Nigerians during his State of the Nation address at the National Assembly, as part of the Democracy Day commemorations.
Among the notable recipients, the late Kudirat Abiola was posthumously awarded the Commander of the Federal Republic title, while Nobel laureate Professor Wole Soyinka received the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger.
Additionally, Shehu Musa Yar’Adua, Ken Saro-Wiwa, and other members of the Ogoni Nine were honored posthumously.
President Tinubu also granted them a presidential pardon.
