Nigerian airline Air Peace has accused former Edo State Governor and current Senator, Adams Oshiomhole, of spreading misinformation and falsehoods against the company.
On Wednesday, Air Peace issued a statement condemning the “unruly activities” of an unnamed “prominent politician” who allegedly assaulted staff and disrupted operations at Lagos’s Murtala Muhammed Airport.
While the airline didn’t name the individual, circulating videos on X strongly suggested the politician was Oshiomhole, prompting Nigerians to call for his direct identification.
Following this, Oshiomhole publicly accused the airline of extorting passengers and claimed he arrived early but was made to miss his flight.

In response, Air Peace released another statement on Wednesday night, refuting Oshiomhole’s claims and challenging him to provide evidence.
“Our attention has been drawn to the deliberate falsehood being peddled by Senator Adams Oshiomole against Air Peace. The Senator lied blatantly when he accused Air Peace of extorting its passengers. We challenge Senator Oshiomole to bring one evidence of a passenger that was extorted,”the statement read.
Air Peace reiterated that the former governor acted unruly after being informed he had missed his flight, subsequently obstructing the check-in process for other passengers.
The airline claimed he “jumped on the baggage conveyor belt, barricaded the entrance gate and prevented access to the terminal and instigated other passengers against it on Wednesday.”
The airline has appealed to the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to intervene by releasing CCTV footage of Oshiomhole at the airport.
“We call on the Federal Airport Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) to release the CCTV coverage starting from the time Senator Oshiomole entered the airport, for Nigerians to see. His accusation of extortion is very defamatory. His conduct was very violent, unbecoming, unfortunate and above all, shameful,” the statement concluded.
