Olubadan Of Ibadan, Oba Olakulehin Is Dead

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, has passed away.

The monarch, who ascended the throne in July 2024, died in the early hours of Monday, July 7, 2025, after reigning for one year.

His demise comes just two days after he celebrated his 90th birthday, having been born on July 5, 1935.

Oba Olakulehin, the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, received his staff of office from Oyo State Governor Engr. Seyi Makinde on July 12, 2024.

He rose to the throne from the position of Balogun Olubadan, succeeding Oba (Dr.) Moshood Lekan Balogun, Alli Okunmade II, who passed away on March 14, 2024, at the age of 81.
