Ganduje Inaugurated As FAAN Board Chairman

Abdullahi Ganduje, who recently resigned as the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), has been officially inaugurated as the Chairman of the Board of the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN).

The inauguration ceremony took place in Abuja on Wednesday, July 9, 2025, with a video of the event posted on X by Gbenga Saka, the Special Adviser on Digital Media to the Minister of Aviation, Festus Keyamo.

President Bola Tinubu had initially appointed Ganduje to the FAAN Board Chair position in January.

Ganduje’s appointment to FAAN’s board comes weeks after he stepped down from his role as APC National Chairman.

According to Felix Morka, the APC spokesman, Ganduje’s resignation was due to “personal reasons,” offered to allow him to “attend to urgent and important personal matters.”

In his resignation letter, addressed to the National Working Committee (NWC) through National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, Ganduje expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the party at its highest level.

Following his resignation, the APC appointed Ali Dalori as its interim leader, pending a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting to fill the vacancy.

Ganduje, who previously served as the governor of Kano State from 2015 to 2023, had assumed the APC chairmanship in August 2023.
