This poll emerges amidst heightened discussions about the upcoming 2027 general elections and recent developments within the opposition coalition, which aims to unseat the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Notably, both Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, who ran against each other as presidential candidates for different parties in 2023, have since joined forces within the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition.
Adding to the pre-election discourse are controversies surrounding the relationship between President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima.
Observers are speculating whether Tinubu will retain Shettima as his running mate in 2027, drawing parallels to his past choices when he served as Governor of Lagos State.
