Former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan has expressed his grief over a tragic helicopter crash in Ghana that killed eight people, including two cabinet ministers.
In a condolence message shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle on Wednesday, Jonathan offered his deepest sympathies to Ghana’s President, John Dramani Mahama, and the entire country.
The victims of the crash included Ghana’s Minister of Defence, Edward Omane Boamah, and the Minister of Environment, Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, along with military officers and other citizens.

Jonathan described the deceased as “dedicated patriots” and “committed public servants who gave their lives in service to their country.”
He praised their sacrifices for Ghana’s “peace, security, and progress,” adding that their deaths leave “a painful void in the hearts of many.”
He concluded his message with a prayer for the bereaved families to have the strength and fortitude to bear the loss.
