Solomon Ewuga, a former Deputy Governor, Minister of State for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and a senator who represented Nasarawa North in the 7th National Assembly, died at the age of 70 on Tuesday.
According to “family sources,” he passed away after a “prolonged illness.”
Ewuga’s public service career spanned decades and was marked by his commitment, resilience and political versatility.
He first gained prominence as a Deputy Governor under former Governor Abdullahi Adamu.

He was later appointed Minister of State for the FCT, where he helped contribute to the capital’s development.
His time as a senator further deepened his influence, particularly as a voice for Nasarawa North.
In December 2023, he made headlines by”formally joining the All Progressives Congress (APC), ending years of association with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a move that underscored his relevance and adaptability in a dynamic political environment.
Beyond his political career, Senator Ewuga was widely respected for his statesmanship and his role in shaping Nasarawa’s political history.
He is survived by his family, political associates, and admirers.
