The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has announced a total and comprehensive two-week warning strikeĀ that will affect all public universities throughout Nigeria.
The Unionās National President, Professor Chris Piwuna, made the announcement during a press conference on Sunday at the University of Abuja.
Professor Piwuna stated that there has been no meaningful progressĀ made to prevent the union from proceeding with its planned industrial action.

He explained that the 14-day notice, which was issued on September 28, 2025, had expired without any substantial response from the relevant authorities.
The National President further stated that all ASUU branches across the country have been directed to begin a full withdrawal of their servicesĀ starting at midnight on Monday, October 13, 2025.
According to Professor Piwuna, the strike is total and comprehensive,Ā in line with the resolution reached during the unionās most recent National Executive Council (NEC) meeting.
