President Bola Tinubu has nominated Dr. Bernard Mohammed Doro as a new minister from Plateau State.
Presidential spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, announced the appointment in a statement on Tuesday, noting that the nomination is “subject to confirmation by the senate” and that the President has already sent Doro’s name to the Senate for approval.
Onanuga explained that Dr. Doro’s nomination follows the election of Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as the All Progressives Congress (APC) chairman in July.

Yilwatda had previously served as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
The statement described Dr. Doro as being born on January 23, 1969, in Kwall, Bassa LGA of Plateau State, and possessing over 20 years of multidisciplinary experience spanning clinical practice, pharmaceutical management, strategic leadership, and community engagement in both the UK and Nigeria.
Dr. Doro holds degrees in Pharmacy and law, as well as an MBA focused on IT-driven business strategy and a Master’s in Advanced Clinical Practice.
He is also noted as an Independent Prescriber and Advanced Clinical Practitioner with NHS frontline experience in various UK healthcare settings.
Furthermore, he has “led youth mentorship and social impact initiatives” both in the diaspora and local communities.
