Primate Elijah Ayodele, the Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has “raised alarm” regarding what he views as a significant “looming international plot” aimed at preventing President Bola Tinubu from staying in office past 2027.
In a statement delivered on Sunday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric—who is known for giving warnings or so-called prophecies on political and even “football matters”—urged President Tinubu to take measures to avert this “foreign-backed political disruption.”
The statement noted that many have “wondered why his God has not given him the silver bullet to shoot down insecurity, bad governance and poverty in Nigeria.”

Ayodele asserted that recent statements from Washington about Nigeria’s political climate indicate a “looming confrontation” designed to weaken the Tinubu administration.
He declared emphatically: “The American government doesn’t want you in 2027.”
He warned the President: “There are plans to destabilise your government ahead of the next election. Don’t sleep over it; seek divine guidance and be watchful.”
The cleric reportedly connected this alleged foreign interest to growing worldwide pressure on Nigeria regarding insecurity and supposed religious persecution.
He cautioned that any lapse in vigilance could result in political instability that could “jeopardize national stability.”
Furthermore, Ayodele warned that some “internal actors” might be “collaborating with foreign interests” to frustrate the President’s bid for a second term.
He added: “There are insiders working with external forces. Strengthen your government and avoid being taken by surprise.”
