Eba was impeached for his refusal to resign despite repeated calls from various sections of the party.

Following his removal, Ntufam Ekum Ojogu has assumed office as the acting chairman. Ojogu will now oversee the affairs of the party until a state congress is convened and his position is formally ratified.

The move by the SEC aligns with the party’s constitution, specifically Section 17(6), which empowers the SEC to appoint an acting chairman when the substantive chairman is removed.
