AFCON 2025: Names Of 11 Players Now In Super Eagles Camp

The Super Eagles’ camp in Cairo, established for preparations ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, has seen its player count increase to 11, with a further 12 players anticipated to join on Monday.

FC Porto’s left-back, Zaidu Sanusi, was the latest addition, bringing the current roster to 11.

The players currently in camp include goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali, Francis Uzoho, and Amas Obasogie, as well as outfield players Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro, Semi Ajayi, Ademola Lookman, Bright Osayi-Samuel, Igho Ogbu, and Tochukwu Nnadi.

With the arrival of 12 more players expected today, Monday, the team is set to hold its first training session at 8 p.m. local time inside the main bowl of the Cairo International Stadium. The backroom staff and coaching crew are already in place at the camp.

The team’s preparation culminates in a key international friendly against Egypt on Tuesday, December 16, 2025, at the Cairo Stadium.

Head coach Eric Chelle will then lead the team from Cairo to Fes, Morocco, which will serve as their base for the group phase of the tournament.

Nigeria has been drawn into Group C alongside Tunisia, Tanzania, and Uganda.

Their AFCON campaign will begin on December 23 against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars, followed by a match against Tunisia’s Carthage Eagles four days later.

They will conclude their group fixtures three days after that clash with a showdown against Uganda’s Cranes.
