Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, has confirmed that Nigerian Air Force personnel recently released by authorities in Burkina Faso have arrived safely at an Air Force base in Accra, Ghana.
Tuggar announced the development on Friday, following several days of diplomatic negotiations regarding the soldiers’ detention.

In a corresponding update, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that a Nigerian military aircraft carrying 11 crew members had successfully departed from Bobo-Dioulasso, exiting Burkina Faso.
In a statement praising the efforts of Nigerian diplomats and officials in securing the evacuation and release, the Ministry said: “Bravo to the Embassy of Nigeria in Burkina Faso and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Abuja”.
