This video filmed at night from a high-rise in Tehran, captures audio of residents chanting “Death to Mojtaba” (in Persian: “Marg bar Mojtaba”) from balconies and windows.
This is coming hours after on Iran’s Assembly of Experts named Mojtaba Khamenei—son of the late Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei killed in recent US-Israeli strikes as the new Supreme Leader.
Activists describe these chants as public rejection of hereditary rule in the Islamic Republic.
The video drew reactions on social media.
