The Nigerian Presidency has officially debunked a viral social media post claiming that U.S. President Donald Trump criticized President Bola Tinubu following the recent suicide bombings in Maiduguri.

Sunday Dare, the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Public Communications, dismissed the report as “fake” and urged the general public to disregard it entirely.

The fraudulent post alleged that Trump had labeled the security situation in Nigeria a “TOTAL DISASTER” and attacked President Tinubu for proceeding with his State Visit to the United Kingdom while the country faced terrorist attacks.

The viral message further suggested that the President was failing in his duties and called for the immediate closure of borders to protect citizens.

However, Sunday Dare clarified that no such statement was ever issued by the U.S. President. He emphasized, “This post does not exist on any whitehouse.gov platform or any of President Donald Trump’s social media pages.”

The Presidency concluded by advising social media users to exercise caution and “verify before you post” to prevent the spread of misinformation.
