The original incident took place on Sunday, April 26, 2026, after operatives from the Effurun Area Command intercepted Ogidi, who was allegedly attempting to send a parcel containing a Beretta pistol and ammunition.

During the arrest, ASP Nuhu Usman reportedly fired his weapon, resulting in the musician’s death.

Despite the man’s claims in the viral video, the police authorities have taken decisive action against the officers involved.

On Wednesday, Force Public Relations Officer DCP Anthony Placid issued a statement confirming that the Inspector-General of Police had approved the dismissal and criminal prosecution of the officers.

The statement noted that this decision followed “the conclusion of internal disciplinary reviews” regarding the April 26, 2026, shooting.
